camilla and marc 'The Radicals' Resort 2012
Taking inspiration from the lavish interiors of Versailles, camilla and marc cruise 2012.13 translates highly decorative interiors into a brilliantly bright collection.
Interiors and architecture are noted points of reference for the brand, informing both silhouette and detailing. Versailles, with its opulent and highly decorative rooms filled with print and texture created a starting point of luxurious fabrics and rich colour. Drawing it into a contemporary space camilla and marc have used fluro striped jacquards in neat tailored silhouettes and black coated snakeskin on structured dresses in a play with colour and texture.
The collection’s highlight print comprises elaborate jewel clusters on an ivory base, scattered across dresses and trousers. Designed to be worn layered with additional jewelled accessories the result is visually playful and intriguing.
Luxurious materials appear in a foiled metallic faille in a deep copper applied into fitted trousers, sleek jumpsuits and biker jackets.
A focus on the waist is omnipresent in the collection. Peplum tops are offered in ivory, raspberry and duck egg blue beautifully paired with wide-legged trousers in fluid triple crepe. Blazers end at the hip, flaring out from a nipped in waist.
For camilla and marc Cruise 2012.13, whilst the inspiration is from the past, the resulting collection is truly of the present time, an extravagant vision distilled into a modern revelation of confident femininity.
